A lot of paving problems trace back to what’s underneath. In our wet climate, water that isn’t managed properly undermines the base and pulls asphalt and concrete apart from below. Because we handle the earthwork ourselves, we grade for drainage, compact the sub-base correctly, and pour or pave on a foundation that’s built to hold. This matters most on hillside and sloped lots, where drainage and retaining are the difference between a driveway that lasts and one that fails.
